Have You Heard About Lola, The Chocolate That Helps You lose Weight?

Hi All. It’s been a while since my last post and while I have been super busy in other areas of my life I had to take a moment to tell you all about a new Chocolate out of Spain that allegedly helps you lose weight. I heard a news report about it on the radio this morning and quickly did a Google search.

The chocolate is called Lola (a reference to the Kinks or Barry Manilow perhaps?), and it is said to “…contain chemicals which trick your brain into making you believe you are not hungry and stop you over-eating.” The Lola Chocolate is also said to contain “…intense flavour and extremely high antioxidant properties.”

WOW!! Now that sounds like a healthy diet snack if I ever heard of one. Now, not to rain on anyone’s parade, but there is a minor “issue” however, which may affect some more than others, apart from the hefty price tag that is: the chocolate has a greenish tinge to it due to the chocolate containing “…the dietary supplement spirulina, a microscopic algae with a high level of nutrients such as vitamin A and B12, which also have weight loss benefits.” But hey, the color could be yellow and I’d eat it if it could help with weight loss…:)

Now we all know of the health benefits of Dark Chocolate that is at least 70% and higher thanks to the scientific community, but I’m not sure if there have been any formal and/or documented scientific studies concerning the Lola Chocolate. However, if what the creators (Cocoa Bio) say is true, then we may be seeing a revolution in the healthy snack world. After all, how wonderful would eating chocolate to lose weight be!

For more information, please check out the article I read, and I’d love to hear what you think, so feel free to leave a comment if you would like.

Take care all and happy snacking!
